This Privacy Policy describes how HomeSift ("we", "us") collects, uses, and protects information when you use the HomeSift mobile app and website (together, the "Service"). HomeSift is operated from the United Kingdom.
Information we collect
- Account information — email address, and optionally name and profile photo, collected via Clerk when you sign up.
- Search preferences — budget, bedrooms, areas, and features you select during onboarding, and implicit preferences inferred from your swipes.
- Activity data — listings you like, dismiss, save, or view, and notes you add to saved properties.
- Device data — device type, OS version, app version, and push-notification tokens (Expo).
- Payment information — if you subscribe, Stripe processes your payment. We never see your full card details.
How we use your data
- To generate your daily property digest and match new listings to you.
- To send morning push notifications (you can disable these in settings).
- To operate, debug, and improve the Service.
- To process subscription payments via Stripe.
What we do not do
- We do not sell your personal data.
- We do not train AI models on your data.
- We do not share your identity with estate agents or property portals.
Third-party processors
We rely on the following providers, each with their own privacy terms:
- Clerk (authentication)
- Supabase (database hosting)
- Render (backend API hosting)
- Vercel (web hosting)
- Stripe (payments)
- Expo (push notifications, app updates)
- Inngest (background job orchestration)
- RapidAPI (third-party providers of property listing data)
Property listings
Listings shown in HomeSift are aggregated from public property portals (Rightmove, Zoopla, OnTheMarket, and others). When you tap through to a listing, you leave HomeSift and visit the original portal — their privacy policies apply there.
Your rights
Under UK GDPR you may request a copy of your data, request correction or deletion, or object to processing. Email privacy@homesift.app and we will respond within 30 days.
Data retention
We retain your data while your account is active. When you delete your account, we remove personal data within 30 days, except where retention is required by law or for fraud prevention.
Children
HomeSift is not intended for children under 16. We do not knowingly collect data from children under 16.
Changes to this policy
We will post material changes here and, where appropriate, notify you in-app. Continued use of the Service after a change constitutes acceptance.
